Philosophy for a Happy Life (Part 1)
Sam Bern was an American activist born in October 23rd, 1996. Died in January 10th, 2014. (17years)
After watching Sam Bern 2013 speech at TEDx yesterday, my mind drew back to an event that happened to me in October 19th, 2019.
Here is my story:
I was coming home on this beautiful Saturday morning from a church vigil - the end of a 3- day revival program & like a dream, 3 arms men came from different directions & attacked me.
Like a goat pulled down to be slaughtered by men, these people pulled my back on the ground & everything on me was taken away including my precious phone. Everything was taken with few injury on my hand.
I remembered that the only song that filled my mouth was "You've done so much for me & I cannot tell it all - Narekelemo." Actually I don't know why.
I came back home depressed but the song was in my mind comforting me. I got home & had my sleep without informing anyone at first. I slept before telling my dad, mum & sister about the incident to avoid unnecessary words.
My questions then was "How can I be coming from church & attacked by thieves?" Well up till now I have no good answer for that question but at the end, I got a new & better phone after few days to this incident without my own money.
There are few things I did during those periods, & to live a happy life in the time of storm you have to apply this too.
1. It is ok to feel bad when bad things happens but never let it consume you. You need to get up & move on.
2. Never tell your story to those who can't help your situation. They will only pity you, mock you when you are not there & make you feel inferior.
3. Be positive. Understand that nothing happens to destroy you but to build you or position you for something better.
4. You are not the first & you won't be the last. Keep moving.
5. Don't waste your energy on things you can't help or control. Just learn & move on.
6. Thank God for the gift of life. The fact that you still have your life worth thanking God for.
The part 2 is from Sam Bern himself.
Thanking God in every situation is always the best
